TEHRAN (ISNA) –Dr. Amir Dehdashti, Director of Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery Research at North Shore University, has said that Iran will become the world's neurology hub within the next few years.

"Given that the science and neurology level in Iran will soon draw many patients from all continents to receive treatment," Dehdashti told ISNA news agency in an exclusive interview.

Some of the world's greatest neuroscientists are invited to first International Congress of Neurovascular surgery in Mashhad to share their experiences with their colleagues in Iran, he added.

"I have two particular subspecialties in cerebrovascular and skull base surgery," he said, adding "This is my fifth trip that I came to neurosurgical congress in Iran and always impressed by the level of neurosurgery in Iran which has improved and keep growing."

He went on to say that it's very difficult to compare Iranian scientific level directly to the same field in united states or in Europe, I think there are some differences and there are some areas that have to be improved but the current level is good and participants are very smart and well trained and they have everything that they need to grow and become leader in this field.

Dr. Dehdashti has published over 60 papers and has given more than 100 lectures at different national and international meetings on topics relevant to cerebrovascular, skull base tumors, pituitary tumors and cranial nerve disorders including trigeminal neuralgia.
